Authenticated router crash via unchecked URLs copy
Published Aug 25, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Heap overflow in Tenda AC23 16.03.07.45_cn allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via a crafted parental-control request. The get_parentControl_list_Info function copies the user-controlled urls parameter with strcpy into heap space allocated by saveParentControlInfo without checking its length. A valid management session and network access to the web interface are required, and the demonstrated consequence is a router-service crash.
