Privileged-page script injection via malicious extension
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Improper extension handling in Google Chrome before 115.0.5790.170 allows attackers to inject script or HTML into a privileged page. Google identifies the Extensions component but has not published the faulty operation or validation error that permits the injection. Exploitation requires convincing a user to install a crafted malicious extension, after which injected content reaches the privileged-page context.
