Privileged-page script injection via malicious extension
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Insufficient data validation in Google Chrome before 115.0.5790.170 allows attackers to inject scripts or HTML into a privileged page. The Extensions component accepts crafted extension content for a privileged page without sufficient validation; Google keeps the underlying bug details restricted. Exploitation requires a user to install the malicious extension, after which injected content executes in the privileged page's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
