Account enumeration via password-recovery response differences
Published Aug 28, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
User enumeration in PHPJabbers Yacht Listing Script 2.0 allows remote attackers to identify valid accounts through password recovery. The password-recovery endpoint returns distinguishable messages for valid and invalid account identifiers, exposing account validity. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the disclosed consequence is an account list that can focus later password guessing.
