CVE-2023-40745Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Application crash via tile-width integer overflow

Published Oct 5, 2023 · Updated Jan 22, 2026

Integer overflow in LibTIFF tiffcp before 4.6.0 allows remote attackers to crash the application through a crafted TIFF image. In readSeparateTilesIntoBuffer, attacker-controlled image dimensions overflow imagew, produce a negative iskew, and drive an out-of-bounds heap write. Exploitation requires a user to process the image with tiffcp and can terminate that process; the published score does not claim confidentiality or integrity impact.
