CVE-2023-40735Network attack vector

Confidentiality loss via enumerable hosted resources

Published Aug 21, 2023 · Updated Jul 2, 2025

Information exposure in CAVO Butterfly Button as of 2023-08-21 allows remote attackers to identify project communications. The SDK hosts project resources across participating websites in an easily enumerable form, while network monitoring reveals communications with the service. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient, and disclosure can identify use of a domestic-violence support channel, undermining confidentiality and plausible deniability.
