Renderer code execution via mismatched constructor map
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Type confusion in Google Chrome's V8 engine before 115.0.5790.170 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted HTML. Maglev's VisitFindNonDefaultConstructorOrConstruct uses new_target's initial_map without verifying that its constructor matches the target, creating an object whose layout conflicts with its map. A victim must visit a malicious page; execution remains confined to the renderer sandbox unless a separate sandbox escape is chained.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
