System file deletion via temporary directory junction

Published Sep 12, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

Arbitrary file deletion in SAP BusinessObjects Suite Installer 420 and 430 allows remote authenticated users to delete operating system files. The installer operates on an attacker-created temporary directory without preventing its redirection through a directory junction to system-file locations.
