Arbitrary JavaScript via unescaped service parameter
Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Reflected XSS in OpenKnowledgeMaps Head Start 4–7 and Visual Project Explorer 1.0 lets remote attackers run JavaScript in a user's browser. The headstart_snapshot.php endpoint reflects the service parameter into generated HTML without neutralizing attacker-controlled markup, so a crafted URL injects script when a user follows it. The attack requires remote delivery of the malicious link and user interaction; impact is browser-session confidentiality and integrity, with no reported service interruption.
