File disclosure via unvalidated image path
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Path traversal in LG Simple Editor 3.21.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read files through crafted image paths. PlayerController.getImageByFilename uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validating that it remains in an allowed directory. The endpoint requires authentication, but the existing authentication mechanism is bypassable, and files are read in the SYSTEM context.
