Code execution via stale SKP parser object
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Use-after-free in Maxon Cinema 4D 2023.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute code when a target opens a crafted SKP file. The SKP parser performs operations on an object without first validating that the object still exists, permitting access after its lifetime ends. Exploitation requires user interaction through a malicious page or file and runs attacker-controlled code in the current process context.
