Arbitrary code execution via unchecked SKP length
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Maxon Cinema 4D 2023.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute code by inducing a crafted SKP file to open. The SKP parser fails to validate an attacker-controlled data length before copying the data into a fixed-length stack buffer. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file and runs code in the context of the current process.
