Code execution via unchecked SKP length copy
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Maxon Cinema 4D 2023.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted SKP file. The SKP parser copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without first validating its length against the destination capacity. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open the file, after which code runs in the context of the current process.
