Root command execution via writable cron script
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Privilege escalation in SECUDOS Qiata 4.13 allows local users to execute commands as root through a writable daily cron script. The /etc/cron.daily/previewRm.sh file is installed world-writable, so unprivileged content is later executed by the root cron context. Existing low-privilege DOMOS access is required; modifying the script grants unrestricted root-level command execution after the daily job runs.
