Authenticated post disclosure via unchecked shortcode target
Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated May 2, 2025
IDOR in the Simple Blog Card WordPress plugin before 1.32 allows remote authenticated users to read nonpublic post titles and content. The simpleblogcard shortcode accepts an internal post-ID URL through the parse-media-shortcode AJAX action and renders the referenced post without checking that its status permits disclosure. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to expose drafts and private or password-protected posts to any logged-in account.
