CVE-2023-40351Network attack vector

Favorite-view changes via non-POST endpoint

Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in Jenkins Favorite View Plugin 5.v77a_37f62782d and earlier allows remote attackers to alter users' favorite views. An HTTP endpoint that adds or removes favorite-view tabs accepts state-changing requests without requiring POST, so a crafted cross-origin request is processed under a victim's Jenkins session. Exploitation requires a Jenkins user to interact with attacker-controlled content while authenticated, and the reported impact is limited to adding or removing entries from that user's favorite-view tab bar.
