CVE-2023-40339Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via unfiltered build logs

Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Credential exposure in Jenkins Config File Provider Plugin 952.va_544a_6234b_46 and earlier allows attackers to read secrets in build logs. ConfigFileBuildWrapper creates no console log filter for credentials injected into managed configuration files, so matching secret values pass to the logger unchanged. Exposure requires a configured credential to appear in build output and access to that build log; only confidentiality is affected.
