CVE-2023-40338Network attack vector

Authenticated controller-path disclosure via empty-log error

Published Aug 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in Jenkins Folders Plugin 6.846.v23698686f0f6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to learn a log path. When an organization folder has no scan logs, its Scan Organization Folder Log handler embeds the log file's absolute controller path in the resulting error message. A user with the Jenkins permissions needed to view that folder can trigger the response remotely; the disclosed path reveals controller file-system layout only.
