CVE-2023-40314

Session-data theft via unescaped bootstrap parameters

Published Nov 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Cross-site scripting in OpenNMS Horizon 31.0.8 through 32.0.3 allows remote authenticated users to steal confidential session data. bootstrap.jsp reads request parameter arrays such as headTitle and emits their values with XML escaping disabled, allowing injected markup or script to run in a user session. An adjacent-network attacker needs an account and must induce another user to open the crafted page; successful execution exposes session information.
