CVE-2023-40311

Stored XSS via unsanitized JSP output

Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Stored XSS in affected OpenNMS Horizon and Meridian releases allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. Multiple JSP views render stored monitoring-location names, asset values, node labels, and Angular typeahead suggestions without sanitization or escaping. Low-privileged access and a later page view are required; the script runs in the viewer's origin, enabling data access and actions available to that session.
