BMC root command execution via unvalidated email address

Command injection in Supermicro X11SAE-F, X11SSM-F, and X11SSE-F firmware 1.66 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as BMC root. The BMC web server stores the alert mail parameter and later interpolates it without adequate validation into an msmtp shell command passed to popen. Exploitation requires BMC administrator credentials and a test-alert trigger, after which commands run with root control over the BMC.
