Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Oct 3, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Sean Barton (Tortoise IT) SB Child List 4.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to change settings. The sb_cl_update_settings function accepts a settings request without valid nonce verification, allowing the browser to submit attacker-chosen values. Exploitation requires a logged-in site author or higher-privileged user to open a crafted link or page; the resulting change is limited to plugin settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
