Plugin activation via missing nonce validation
Published Oct 3, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in FuturioWP Futurio Extra 1.8.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to activate plugins via forged requests. The futurio_ajax_required_plugins_activate function accepts a plugin-activation request without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, so it performs the state-changing action under the victim's authenticated session. Successful exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow a malicious link or take an equivalent action; published evidence limits the result to activating Futurio-required plugins.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
