Website interruption via unrestricted recursive queries
Published Oct 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Uncontrolled resource consumption in affected Silverstripe GraphQL releases allows remote attackers to interrupt websites via recursive queries. The GraphQL request path parsed and executed documents without depth, node-count, or complexity limits, so nested selections consumed excessive server resources. A public schema permits unauthenticated network access; a nonpublic schema requires a user account, and the bounded impact is loss of website availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
