Authenticated privilege escalation via misattributed content rendering
Published Aug 23, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Eval injection in XWiki Platform 4.3-milestone-2 through 14.10.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts with programming rights. The AppWithinMinutes.Content custom displayer renders a profile page's Content field as its own privileged author instead of the content author. A registered account can place a script macro in that field and gain programming rights, enabling arbitrary server-side scripts and access to protected wiki resources.
