Cross-user image disclosure via unchecked Autofill URIs
Published Oct 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024
Information disclosure in Google Android 11, 12, 12L, and 13 allows local users to view images belonging to another device user. DialogFillUi.setHeader accepts image URIs supplied through an Autofill provider's RemoteViews without verifying that the current user can access them. A malicious Autofill provider with ordinary local execution privileges can exploit the system UI as a confused deputy without user interaction; the disclosed impact is limited to cross-user image viewing.
