Cross-user image disclosure via unchecked RemoteViews URIs
Published Oct 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024
Information disclosure in Google Android 11, 12, 12L, and 13 allows local users to view another user's images through Autofill. SaveUi.applyCustomDescription rendered provider-supplied RemoteViews without verifying that embedded content URIs belonged to the current user. Exploitation requires a malicious Autofill provider but needs no additional execution privileges or user interaction, and exposes image content only.
