CVE-2023-40072Network attack vector

Authenticated OS command execution via crafted requests

Published Aug 18, 2023 · Updated Jul 3, 2025

OS command injection in ELECOM wireless access points allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands via crafted requests. The public advisories do not identify the management endpoint, input parameter, or command-building operation that passes request data to the operating system. Access requires valid management credentials and network reachability; successful exploitation grants command execution with the appliance service's privileges.
