CVE-2023-4005Network attack vector

Persistent account access via stale sessions

Published Jul 31, 2023 · Updated Oct 11, 2024

Insufficient session expiration in FOSSBilling before 0.5.5 allows remote authenticated users to retain account access after a password change. Client and staff password-change paths update stored password hashes without deleting the account's existing database-backed sessions. Exploitation requires a previously valid client or staff session, which remains usable after the account holder changes the password.
