Browser script execution via reflected transfer payload
Published Sep 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Reflected XSS in Progress WS_FTP Server 8.7.0 through 8.7.3 and 8.8.0 through 8.8.1 allows remote attackers to execute browser scripts. The Ad Hoc Transfer module reflects a specialized payload into a user's browser, but Progress has not disclosed the affected request field or deficient output-encoding operation. Exploitation requires a user to open the attacker-supplied request; successful script execution occurs in that user's browser context and can act with that web session's access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=8.7.0 <8.7.4
