CVE-2023-40041Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked pin copy

Published Aug 8, 2023 · Updated Oct 10, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK T10 V2 Firmware 5.9c.5061_B20200511 allows remote attackers to execute code via MQTT. setWiFiWpsConfig copies an attacker-controlled pin value into a stack buffer with strncpy without checking its length when wscMode and wscPinMode equal 1. Network reachability to the router's MQTT service is sufficient; overwriting the return address executes attacker-supplied code.
