CVE-2023-40027Network attack vector

Public admin metadata via missing authorization

Published Aug 15, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Missing authorization in Keystone before 5.5.1 allows remote attackers to read admin metadata through a public GraphQL query. When ui.isAccessAllowed is undefined, the adminMeta resolver is reachable without a session and bypasses the expected session-strategy gate. The exposure requires that configuration and does not apply when the Keystone auth package or a custom access function enforces authorization; impact is limited to disclosure of administrative metadata.
