Service crash via unchecked ICE component identifier
Published Sep 15, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in FreeSWITCH before 1.10.10 allows remote attackers to crash the service via a crafted SDP offer. The ICE candidate parser uses an unknown component identifier as an array index without validating that the value is within the supported component range. A network-reachable signaling path that accepts an SDP offer is required; malformed candidate values corrupt process memory and can terminate the service.
