Internal data access via proxy URL parsing
Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
SSRF in the proxy endpoint in GeoSolutions GeoNode 3.2.0 through 4.1.2 allows remote attackers to read internal-host data via a URL. The /proxy/?url= handler validates a parsed hostname that crafted userinfo and fragment syntax can make differ from the leading destination actually requested. No authentication is required; successful requests support internal port scanning and return reachable internal content.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
