CVE-2023-4000Network attack vector

Countdown manipulation via missing AJAX nonce validation

Published Aug 31, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

CSRF in Plugin Builders Waiting: One-click countdowns 0.6.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to create or delete countdowns via forged requests. The plugin's state-changing AJAX actions accept requests without correct nonce validation, allowing forged requests to create or delete timers. Exploitation requires an authenticated site administrator to be induced to submit the request, and the resulting changes are limited to plugin countdown data.
