Out-of-bounds write in Hitachi EH-VIEW Designer allows local users to execute arbitrary code by opening a malicious UPR file. The Designer UPR parser writes beyond a memory buffer while processing attacker-controlled file data; Hitachi has not disclosed the faulty routine or field. Exploitation requires a user to open the file, after which code runs in the affected application process.
