CVE-2023-39983Network attack vector

Unauthenticated device registration via unchecked object attributes

Published Sep 2, 2023 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Improper object-attribute modification in Moxa MXsecurity Series 1.0 through 1.0.1 allows remote attackers to add devices via nsm-web. The nsm-web device-registration flow accepts attacker-controlled device attributes without authorization and persists them in the SQLite database and web interface. Network access to the enabled web service is sufficient; successful exploitation corrupts management data and displayed device state.
