CVE-2023-39946Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote process crash via oversized CDR string

Published Aug 11, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Heap overflow in Fast DDS before 2.6.6, 2.7.0 through 2.9.1, 2.10.0 through 2.10.1, and 2.11.0 allows remote attackers to crash processes. ParameterPropertyList_t::push_back_helper trusts the attacker-controlled CDR string length and uses it as the size of a second memcpy into properties_.data, overrunning the heap allocation. Any sender able to reach the discovery multicast port can terminate a Fast DDS process without authentication; no data disclosure is established.
