CVE-2023-39916Network attack vector

File overwrite via unsanitized RRDP response URL

Published Sep 13, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2025

Path traversal in NLnet Labs Routinator 0.9.0 through 0.12.1 and 0.14.0 through 0.14.2 allows remote attackers to overwrite files. The rrdp-keep-responses path builder derives a storage location from an insufficiently sanitized RRDP request URL, permitting writes outside its designated directory. Exposure requires the off-by-default option to be enabled in configuration or on the command line, and the resulting write uses the Routinator process's filesystem access.
