Unsafe deserialization in Apache UIMA Java SDK before 3.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code via crafted CAS data. CasIOUtils, the Vinci service, CAS editor and viewer tools, and CPE checkpointing deserialize Java objects without verifying permitted classes. Remote exposure requires an explicitly started Vinci service or an application that passes untrusted serialized CAS data to CasIOUtils.
