Database record deletion via raw identifier interpolation
Published Aug 15, 2023 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
SQL injection in SchoolMate 1.3 allows remote attackers to delete school records by submitting crafted course or teacher identifiers. DeleteFunctions.php interpolates courseid and teacherid values from POST-backed deletion calls directly into unquoted MySQL DELETE statements without validation. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation can delete course, registration, assignment, grade, or teacher data and can interrupt the database service.
