CVE-2023-39829Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Extender crash via unchecked stack copy

Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024

Stack overflow in Tenda A18 15.13.07.09 allows remote attackers to crash the extender through a crafted wireless-repeat request. The fromSetWirelessRepeat handler accepts wpapsk_crypto2_4g without a length check, and set_repeat24 copies it onto the stack with strcpy. The public proof of concept targets /goform/WifiExtraSet with 2.4 GHz repeating enabled; its demonstrated consequence is a device crash.
