Device crash via unchecked security parameter copy
Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Stack overflow in formWifiBasicSet in Tenda A18 15.13.07.09 allows remote attackers to crash the device via a crafted security parameter. The handler accepts the security form value without a length check and passes it to strcpy, which copies it into the fixed-size param stack buffer. Exploitation requires network access to the appliance's web management endpoint and can crash its service, interrupting extender availability.
