Unauthenticated stack overflow via rule_info
Published Aug 14, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda A18 15.13.07.09 allows remote attackers to crash the network extender via a crafted HTTP request. The formAddMacfilterRule handler passes user-controlled deviceList data to parse_macfilter_rule, which copies it with strcpy into fixed-size rule_info fields without length checks. An attacker able to reach the management endpoint can interrupt service, and the published PoC reports root-shell execution with further exploit construction.
