CVE-2023-3981Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File disclosure via vocabulary import errors

Published Jul 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

Server-side request forgery in Omeka S before 4.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to read server-accessible files through vocabulary import. The import action accepts a vocabulary URL, and VocabularyController returns an RDF-library validation message containing data read from the supplied location instead of a generic error. A privileged account permitted to import vocabularies is required; the demonstrated consequence is confidential file disclosure, not modification or service interruption.
