System reboot via malformed WMA file
Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Denial of service in Renault EASY LINK 283C35519R allows physically proximate attackers to reboot the system via a crafted WMA file. The media player automatically processes WMA files from an inserted USB device and fails to handle a file with byte 0x14 activated, terminating the infotainment system. Physical access to the vehicle USB port is required; successful exploitation reboots the display and interrupts its multimedia functions.
