Stored XSS via unescaped browse preview heading
Published Jul 27, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024
Stored XSS in the browse preview block in Omeka S before 4.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visitors' browsers. The application/view/common/block-layout/browse-preview.phtml template writes the administrator-configured heading directly into an h2 element without HTML escaping. Access to edit a site page and set its Preview Title is required, and the script runs when a visitor opens the published page containing that block.
