Administrator-session script execution via unsanitized URL parameter
Published Sep 16, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Cross-site scripting in the vBulletin Admin Control Panel 5.7.5 and 6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a crafted URL. The login flow inadequately sanitizes the url parameter, so crafted JavaScript escapes its intended context and runs in the administrator's browser. Exploitation requires low-privileged authentication and administrator interaction, exposing the administrator's session and permitting actions in that context.
