Browser script execution via unsanitized JSONP callback
Published Sep 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Reflected XSS in FieldThemes FieldPopupNewsletter 1.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute browser scripts via a crafted callback URL. The newsletterRegistration function in ajax.php concatenates the unsanitized callback query value into a JSONP-style response when the email input is absent or invalid. Exploitation requires a victim to follow the crafted URL, after which the script runs in the storefront origin and can read or alter data available to that browser session.
