CVE-2023-39667Network attack vector

Post-authentication stack overflow via unchecked query length

Published Aug 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-868L firmware 1.12 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt process memory via HTTP query data. In scandir.sgi, FUN_0000acb4 copies the HTTP query-derived param_2 value into a fixed-length local stack buffer without validating its length. Authentication to the web interface is required; D-Link does not state whether the resulting memory corruption causes a crash or code execution.
